This was our first pickleball seminar on the first pickleball courts built in our community of Bonsuoku in Ghana's Central Region.
We introduced the sport of Pickleball to almost 100 people of all ages, male and female. Then taught the rules of the game, the different varieties of strokes and had plenty of fun. It was a great experience participating in grassroots pickleball and there is a huge potential to grow the sport in the coming years.
Yoga for Jiu-Jitsu December, 2025
This was our 3rd annual Yoga for Jiu-Jitsu seminar and first at our own facility at AJ Sports Park. We continued our partnership with Becky's Foundation and Christian Atsu School with their students and continued our learning journey.
We worked on Jiu-Jitsu for self-defence, basic techniques of escapes and control, incorporating a range of exercises for health & wellness supported with Yoga principles.
AJ Youth Olympics January 3rd, 2026
This was our 1st annual Afro-Jits Youth Olympics held at the Afro-Jits Sports Park, near Senya Beraku, that incorporated Pickleball, Jiu-Jitsu and Calisthenics.
This annual event showcased the talents in various disciplines that will only improve in time as the 3-5 year development plan takes shape. We'd like to thank our sponsors, partners, stakeholders and community for supporting the event, there is surely more to come.
![]() This event was our first programme with Becky's Foundation and after weeks of training with the young people, it was a great opportunity for everyone to learn something new and participate in activities that can benefit the youngsters later in life. We trained in basic Yoga postures for the warm up and warm downs then using Jiu-Jitsu for self defence to balance out the stillness and movement. It was the first event of many for Make Afrika a Better Place with more community-based activities ahead | ![]() This was our first sustainable agricultural event and was a joint effort between our NGO, our corporate partner, Tikur Organic Farm and one of our NGO projects, HIM Institute. The 2-month course was designed to introduce students to the theory & practical side of: ●soil knowledge ●seedling cultivation ●compost making ●garden prep using compost ●transplanting student planted seedlings | ![]() This event was a collaboration between MABP and 3 UK based instructors, in Yoga, Jiu-Jitsu and Capoeria. Another first for the NGO hosting not just for this particular event but also for sports tourism around Ghana afterwards. We introduced the students to the 3 disciplines during the expo, with each instructor leading their own segment back by Afrikan drum & dance played by the students themselves. |
